ONE (1)-YEAR EXTENSION OF PASSPORT VALIDITY FOR EMERGENCY TRAVEL
Applicants for renewal of Philippine passports who are unable to physically go to the Philippine Consulate General in Houston for any reason, including those unable to secure passport renewal appointments online, may apply for a one (1)-year extension of passport validity.
In order to apply, the applicant must be a bearer of a valid and unexpired Philippine passport. The extension is valid for one (1) year upon the issuance of the extension, and not upon the date of expiry of the passport.
Extension of passport validity can only be availed of once and may only be done on a passport whose validity has not yet expired. Expiring passports whose validity had previously been extended would have to be renewed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Philippine Passport;
- Duly accomplished REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF VALIDITY OF PASSPORT form;
- One (1) photocopy of valid Philippine passport;
- One (1) photocopy of US permanent residence card (green card) or US issued visa or any proof that applicant has not applied for foreign citizenship;
- One (1) photocopy of confirmed flight itinerary (if applicable).
FEES: US$25.00 in money order payable to the Philippine Consulate General in Houston

APPLICATION BY MAIL ONLY Enclose the above-mentioned REQUIREMENTS and PAYMENT (US$ 25.00 MONEY ORDER), together with one (1) self-addressed stamped envelope with prepaid postage and tracking number (USPS Certified Priority Mail/Express mail envelope or prepaid UPS/DHL) to be used for the return of documents. Write legibly your name and complete mailing address on the “Recipient / TO:” space of the new envelope.
